Inline Attachments Style

Post by Ed Guy » Fri May 15, 2009 3:03 pm

Hello,

I've changed the way attachment boxes are displayed (comment line position, box border color, etc), applying some modifications on "attachments.html" and "viewtopic_body.html".

But the "inline attachments" still show up the old way (without modifications).

So, where (in which files) can I find the code to modify the look of inline attachment box?

Regards

Ed :?:

Ok. SOLVED

To change "inline attachment box" one have to look at:

/styles/subsilver2/template/bbcode.html
near

Code: Select all

<!-- BEGIN inline_attachment_open -->
<div class="attachtitle">{L_ATTACHMENT}:</div><div class="attachcontent">
<!-- END inline_attachment_open -->

<!-- BEGIN inline_attachment_close -->
</div>
<!-- END inline_attachment_close -->
and

/styles/subsilver2/theme/stylesheet.css
near

Code: Select all

/* BBCode
 ------------ */
.quotetitle, .attachtitle {
	margin: 10px 5px 0 5px;
	padding: 4px;
	border-width: 1px 1px 0 1px;
	border-style: solid;
	border-color: #A9B8C2;
	color: #333333;
	background-color: #A9B8C2;
	font-size: 0.85em;
	font-weight: bold;
}

.quotetitle .quotetitle {
	font-size: 1em;
}

.quotecontent, .attachcontent {
	margin: 0 5px 10px 5px;
	padding: 5px;
	border-color: #A9B8C2;
	border-width: 0 1px 1px 1px;
	border-style: solid;
	font-weight: normal;
	font-size: 1em;
	line-height: 1.4em;
	font-family: "Lucida Grande", "Trebuchet MS", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;
	background-color: #FAFAFA;
	color: #4B5C77;
}

.attachcontent {
	font-size: 0.85em;
}

HEy guys,

I followed the suggestion here and changed the html color numbers illustrated in the second code box:

/styles/subsilver2/theme/stylesheet.css

however, my forum is the milkywayred design, I found the stylesheet css file and made those changes but attachments still come up the default orange boarder.

Image

Image

as you can see the code I put in is 888996, which should be a blueish gray color.

I am thinking I may have to also change the subsilver .css file as well?

in my picture is this file:

/styles/milkywayred/theme/stylesheet.css

I have done most of the obvious things I can think of, changed computers to see if it was a cache thing viewed the forum with a fresh PC and the orange is still there.
this orange color is defying the laws of logic and making me bang my head on my keyboard, please help.

Uggg, this is so frustrating.

I went into every template I have on file at the server, prosilver, subsilver and all of them do not have this orange color in the code for attachments....they have A9B8C2 which is similar in shade to my other code.

If not in the file areas illustrated by the fist poster above where oh where can the code for this hideous orange be?

Has something changed since 2009 when this was the solution?

I do not have a lot of BB code experience, should I be adding this code to the first BB file above:

[background={COLOR}]{TEXT}[/background]

and replace the word "COLOR" with the the word GRAY?

thank you for the response my board is private, you would have to be member to see it, that is why I posted a picture of the orange attachment border above, below my code snapshot.
the default colors on the milkywayred template are red and grey this orange just does not go good but somehow it was the default color in the code.
I changed the code numbers as suggested above and it stayed orange, weirdest thing I have ever seen in html, which makes me think the file that controls that color is not the same as mentioned above or I may need to add some BB code to the first file mentioned in the OP's second post.

He also mentions modifying "attachments.html" and "viewtopic_body.html". but if I need to do that as well I would need to know the code lines to do so.

how are you making the edits? are you downloading the files to your computer and using a text editor?

you have to refresh the template/theme/imageset after making any changes.

admin panel/styles tab/your style
click on each component and click refresh for it.

the forum is stored on a server and I am using their code editor to make changes to the files.

I went in the ACP, went to Styles>Themes>Milkywayred> Refresh (Yes)

and went back to the forum, I see now, things are messed up, lol, I have to go back to the file and start over because I changed too many html color codes so now the backgrounds of the attachments are grey too. and links are red, good time people good times... :)

thanks again broham I think I got it from here, ;)

some of the problems can also be attributed to the file manager editor you are using. they are known for corrupting files.

just to be sure, do it the proper way. get a good ftp program and a good text editor.
download the file(s) to your computer, edit them with the text editor and upload back and refresh.
Tools needed to set up and customise phpBB

If you are going to be doing a lot of changes, having to purge the cache every time is a bore.
Therefore, go to the admin panel to the main menu. Near the bottom of the left side menu you will see: "Load Settings"
click on that. On the next page down near the bottom you will see: "Recompile stale style components". Set that to yes and submit.

Now, you will not have to purge the cache after every change. You will most likely have to refresh your browser each time.
