Report your own post and select "Wrong forum" as reason. Moderators aren't reading everything - that's why reports exist.

You should always do your upgrades/changes on a test environment first before doing it in production.

But with that said, if your php.ini file was configured to report errors, it would display them on screen when they occurred. Since it is not, check your error log for your web server, guaranteed it will be there. We need to know what error is happening before we can help you further.

If the server is using default location, then this is default for Ubuntu and the like, and this is default for CentOS/RHEL and the like.

well I'm not exactly sure how the error was corrected but all's good now... altho I did (in frustration) dump the entire thing and re-stall not once but twice.
I had put a ticket in with Fatcow advising them hoping they had some ideas for me to pursue.
Here were the results from the error logs just incase it helps someone else:
dadawghouse.net/forum/index.php
PHP Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'Twig_Error_Loader' with message 'Unable to find template "index_body.html" (looked into: ).' in /hermes/walnaweb02a/123456/XXXXXXXXX/forum/vendor/twig/twig/lib/Twig/Loader/Filesystem.php:202
Stack trace:
#0 /hermes/walnaweb02a/123456/XXXXXXXXXX/forum/phpbb/template/twig/loader.php(107): Twig_Loader_Filesystem->findTemplate('index_body.html')
#1 /hermes/walnaweb02a/123456/XXXXXXXXXX/forum/vendor/twig/twig/lib/Twig/Loader/Filesystem.php(138): phpbb\template\twig\loade

I'm just happy as hell everything is working !
now over to Arty to ask them about a *how to* !
