One session per user

Post by Cobra45 »

Is it possible to achieve?
At now I can log in on my netbook, PC and mobile at the same time without single notification about it. I'd like to request an extension for this issue.

Could you perhaps explain why you consider this a problem as it helps when trying to develop an extension.

Privacy and security. If someone grab your password you will know about it much quicker than when you will be unable to log in.

If you are worried about security then don't use "Remember me" and always log out.

How would you know quicker? If somebody did get hold of your password, and change it, you still would not know until the next time you tried to use it.

That's not enough these days.

Changing password for taken accounts is the first step to lose them. Most of data thiefs keeps the access data intact as long as possible.

Let's just put this in perspective - we are talking about a bulletin board here - not your bank account.

OK - so if somebody gets hold of a user's password and gains access to the forum then the worst that they can do (subject to permissions) is to create a few spam posts and even if it was an Admin's password there is not a lot more that they could do, and if they did all you would need to do would be to restore the database.

Sure, it's not a bank account, so give me your phpbb.com password  I'll create few spam posts, nothing more :)
