Please explain what sub-posts are?

Any post listed under a major post, such as General Post and as a sub-post "Weather" with no comments.

Do you mean forum?

Or are you referring to replies to a topic?

If the first (forum) then as Admin you can delete it, but you need to move the topics first.

If the second (posts) then as Admin no - it is a Moderator function.

I think he is saying "General Post" is a forum and "Weather" is a topic.

Deleting another user's topics or posts uses Moderator permissions, not Admin permissions.

I agree - but equally "General Post" could be a category and "Weather" a forum.

Forums then Replies. The Forum to me is the whole "Forum" in the Forum one has several Topics and under each topic are post. I want to delete the Topic.

"3.0.x Support Forum" is a "forum".
"Deleting Sub-Post" is a "topic".
This paragraph here is a "post", which is a "reply".

Then you need Moderator permissions (which you may have) to do that.

It helps if everyone is using the same terminology. In phpbb, the whole thing is called the "board".

phpbb.com/community is the board.

within the board you have categories, phpBB 3.0.x is a category.

under categories you have forums,
under phpBB 3.0.x is this forum we are in. ( 3.0.x Support Forum )

under forums you have topics.
we are currently in the topic "Deleting Sub-Post"
which is in the forum "3.0.x Support Forum" which is under the category "phpBB 3.0.x" which is on the board "phpbb.com/community" .

my post that you are reading now is a reply to the topic which can be called a post or a reply either way.

actually, the topic is a post as well. that is how you create a new topic. you make a new post in a forum.
then, all replies to that topic/post are considered either replies or posts.
