Hi,
I checked the migrations since phpBB 3.1.6-RC1 to 3.1.8, today.
Only one permission has been added (m_pm_report in 3.1.7-RC1) and one column changed into the users table (user_dateformat in 3.1.8-RC1).

So I fixed the modissions_reset.php and here you go.
Do not forget to make the backup of your database before to use such tools, that's the usual side note.

Before to go ahead please have a look at this post of mine, thanks.

Modission reset for phpBb 3.1.x: https://gist.github.com/3D-I/205fd632d783e66a3ac8 (up to phpBB 3.1.9)

Regards.

Thanks for this.

And the guide for updating phpbb is not completed.
It should inform about mods and how to avoid problems.
Poor noob users

Upgrade, not update.

Yes. I recently added the login box, some user with cookies issues were not able to use it.
I see there is a problem, I will fix it in the next few hours. :)

Edit: in the meantime I reverted those edits back, URL is the same.

The only thing I can think off is that you have your cookies' settings wrong.

Check your cookies' settings with this file

You could edit or re-write the existing one and send it to a team leader for their perusal. I'm sure they would be very grateful.

There's always documentation to look at Knowledge Base - Fixing incorrect cookie settings.
