Post by Stoker 4.0 »

Hello,

Have seen some apps where its possible to login from your phone with fingerprint.
Wonder if this can be done for phpbb?

It would be really great feature. However I think implementation of such extension won't be so easy having in mind the fact that fingerprint readers are still not so widespread but at the same time they are around for more than 10 years.

I know it's relevant to the topic but generally try not to bump super old topics. You can create a new one instead.

However, your point about Passkey support is interesting. I'm not aware of any extension that lets you do that specifically but I did find that there is this extension that adds two factor authentication to your forum. It was last updated for 3.3.1 so make sure to test it thoroughly before trying to use it on a 3.3.12 forum.

Well, why not FaceID or facial recognition? :)

Apparently FaceID and TouchID would work with logging in but the I'm not sure how extendable the phpBB login screen is. I might have a go at this and see if I can come up with something. It would be kind of funny to get FaceID working with phpBB... 😂

Yeah that one is not bad at all but I miss the feature saying "don't ask me again for a month" - otherwise I'd be using it today.
