Update to 3.2 Failed, file not found

This post is a follow up to this series of events outlined here;

I was attempting up update from 3.0.11 to 3.1, the process failed, and so I am attempting to upgrade directly to 3.2. After reading the suggesting in the previous report and after several attempts I was able to restore the database back to the 3.0.11 version. I took another backup and saved locally (on the server) and downloaded a backup.

Following the instructions outlined here;

I am now at step 7 where it indicates to browse out to /install/database_update.php but when I do so I get a 404 error. Checking the install directory in the server and in the extracted 3.2 Install directory, there is no database_update.php file. I browse out to the install/app.php page, that is visible, but when I click on any of the links for Overview, Install or Update, all them result in a 404 File not found error.

Suggestions?

Getting quite nervous my ten year old forum may be seriously hosed.

You should just go to install/

You need to make sure your nginx configuration is suitable for phpBB 3.2.

I am not sure quite what to look for in nginx to know weather it's configured correctly or not.

Are you referring to the php version and mySql version?

Is there something specifically you are seeing there that would make you think this is an nginx issue?

The reason why I think it is not correct is because of the 404 for a subpage for install, which is something new in 3.2.

Paul, thank you for the suggestion. After working with our server admin (shout out to Dan Stone at Off The Wall Media) who changed the nginx config and ran the update via shell access several times, the database was finally updated. Not an easy or fast process, but we're back in business.
