Geepers wrote:Yes, but doesn't this raise the old chestnut of the user having to then resize large file images before posting? :D
I'm using the VSE Lightbox Extension at present to control the displayed image size.
How does this (ReIMG) Extension differ from the VSE one then....if it resizes before upload why isn't the stored image file size smaller? or is it only changing the displayed size not file size.
Having trouble getting my head around this :D
All I know is that Users don't like using Photbucket and it's permeation's, or having to reduce their file size before posting.
Other than using different enlarging methods when clicking on the image it's pretty much the same, except this one is the continuation of the MOD so it is much older.

I'm sorry then, but this board does have a rule saying that we only allow posting in English.
I'll ask to you try asking your questions in English, or visit the Dutch support forums for help with this. :)

Assuming Google Translate got this right, I have a demo of it here. It is currently using the Image Lightbox option.

Can you make to so all linked images are saved to the local host?
I read a lot of discussion boards and a lot of the times the images in the post are dead because the poster hot linked the image from some photo hosting site. This drive me crazy.

This code works but I cant figure out how to implement it to the [ IMG ] [ / IMG ] BBCode

Code: Select all

function getimg($url) {
    $headers[] = 'Accept: image/gif, image/x-bitmap, image/jpeg, image/pjpeg';
    $headers[] = 'Connection: Keep-Alive';
    $headers[] = 'Content-type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded;charset=UTF-8';
    $user_agent = 'php';
    $process = curl_init($url);
    curl_setopt($process, CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER, $headers);
    curl_setopt($process, CURLOPT_HEADER, 0);
    curl_setopt($process, CURLOPT_USERAGENT, $useragent);
    curl_setopt($process, CURLOPT_TIMEOUT, 30);
    curl_setopt($process, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1);
    curl_setopt($process, CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION, 1);
    $return = curl_exec($process);
    curl_close($process);
    return $return;
}

$imgurl = 'http://www.foodtest.ru/images/big_img/sausage_3.jpg';
$imagename= basename($imgurl);
if(file_exists('./tmp/'.$imagename)){continue;}
$image = getimg($imgurl);
file_put_contents('tmp/'.$imagename,$image);
I'll make a LARGE donation on your website if you add this feature
THANK YOUR SIR!!!

I've not actually checked that. I think it does, but not exactly sure. Sorry. Might check on it later.

Thank you!
I noticed something. I set the Message Settings to the maximum width at 850px and the maximum height at 450px. So when I put an image of 900px wide and 650px high I get an error saying that the image exceeds those limits. How does the extension work?

I always thought that if you send a picture of 900x650px, it would resize proportionally to the settings of 850x450px.

No you're thinking about attaching images and it does the reduction in dimensions because we're using plupload now. For the img BBCode there's no such thing. If you try to post an image larger than what the forum's post settings allow you get rejected by the core system. As has always been the case (3.0 MOD included), ReIMG doesn't physically change anything about images posted using the img BBCode. On the client side, through CSS and JavaScript manipulation, the image is visually reduced in size at which point the user can click on the image to expand to a larger size in a modal lightbox.

Thanks for the answer, David, it's all clear now!

What if I want to resize so that the image is at most 800px wide? Is there an option?

No I decided to remove that setting for the extension because in 3.1 images are automatically adjusted via CSS to fit into the post message area, basically making such a setting unnecessary.
