3.x to StarChapter conversion?

Converting from other board software? Good decision! Need help? Have a question about a convertor? Wish to offer a convertor package? Post here.

3.x to StarChapter conversion?

Post by woodp »

One of my customers has moved from "website plus phpBB" to a paid host, StarChapter to be specific. While it's certainly possible to leave phpBB running as a read-only archive, I would be interested in hearing if anyone has successfully ported their 3.x database to StarChapter?

Our board has about 3,000 posts over a 10 year period and I'm not opposed to trimming some of it and only importing the last year or so of messages. Anyone with experience?

Not sure what starchapter is but if it's just another host, you can move the entire site.

Transferring Your Board to a New Host or Domain

If it's another bulletin board software then you'd need to ask them.

Unfortunately, StarChapter is not "just another host." They offer full-fledged association management packages. These are becoming increasingly common as website complexity increases.

I think you need to talk to them about it.

We can help people get TO phpBB but not FROM it to something else.
