[SOLVED] In ACP: Extensions Menu Error

Post by mstace » Thu Oct 26, 2017 8:04 am

v3.2.1

When trying to access the EXTENSIONS menu in the ACP, it generates this error.
Cannot access any of the extensions.

This seems to be a legacy problem. The forum is massive.
Installs and updates don't fix it.

Code: Select all

General Error
Cannot find module ./../includes/acp/acp_wwh.php

BACKTRACE

FILE: (not given by php)
LINE: (not given by php)
CALL: msg_handler()

FILE: [ROOT]/includes/functions_module.php
LINE: 573
CALL: trigger_error()

FILE: [ROOT]/adm/index.php

CALL: p_master->load_active()

There is no such file as includes/acp/acp_wwh.php in a vanilla install of phpBB 3.2.x which would seem to indicate that you have something left over fron a previous version of phpBB or you have done some manual core code changes.

I was contacted by the person moderating the forum. The Admin had passed away -- no contact for over a year.

I barely was able to transfer their massive forum to a new server before the old one died.

Yes, totally agree. There is something wrong here and it is most likely historical.

Who can fix this kind of thing?

Remove the "who was here" module within the ACP.

There isn't a module with that name.

There should be within the extensions module.

It was called: WWH_TITLE. Lots of the entries do not have proper titles.
Removing it did nothing.

There are tons of very old extensions still present.
This install is hosed.

Logically I should be able to transfer all of the MYSQL with the users and posts to a fresh install, yes?
I do this on Joomla no problems.

Where does PHPBB keep the secret hash for generating the passwords?
As long as that is the same on both site then the passwords should work as well.

If the modules don't have proper titles then remove them. They are mods that were installed from a version prior to 3.1 or 3.2.

After removing all those outdated modules, the ERROR message, when clicking on the EXTENSIONS menu item, has changed:

General Error
Cannot find module ./../includes/acp/acp_mobiquo.php

CALL: msg_handler()

FILE: [ROOT]/includes/functions_module.php

Yes, realised that, but if I disable or delete Tapatalk, this error does not go away.

(I have opened a Support Ticket with Tapatalk.)

WKUZMA: That is a separate issue to this post. Best to create a New Topic for it.

I ran modission_reset_321.php

In the ACP the EXTENSIONS menu is now totally missing, even though it is enabled.

Here are the results:
Config values deleted: 12
phpbb_mods table not found
Modules deleted: 9
Permissions deleted: 20
