Timeout installation 3.2.1 to 3.2.2

Post by nl1sms »

I uploaded all the files went to /install and immediately after pressing update i get the wellknown error:

The installer detected a timeout
The installer has detected a timeout, you may try to refresh the page, which may lead to data corruption. We suggest that you either increase your timeout settings or try to use the CLI.

Mij max execution setting has been made higher by my hoster. How can i fix this? I use the automatic updater 3.2.1 to 3.2.2.
Cheers

Does it really happen right after you click on the update tab or while running the update? You can try to purge the installer cache in [phpBB root]/cache/installer by removing the contents of that folder. Do not confuse the path with [phpBB root]/phpbb/installer.

It happens right after i click on update. It does not install anything at all.

I'll have a look... thanx..

edit:

There are some files in the installer map. I deleted them tried to update again but still a timeout.

edit2:

Okay, so i deleted all the files on my server except files images ext store. Uploaded the complete package and run the installer. Could do a database update and everything seems to work fine. But when in ACP it says that the version is 3.2.1 and not 3.2.2. ?!?!?!

I don't want to do this on my live forum as i have some code changes. I want to use the automatic updater. Help. ;)

A timeout might also be a sign of a PHP error. Please take a look at your server's PHP error logs and post the result (if any) here.

There is a error in the download from phpBB.nl. There should be a new package soon.

The problem reported above is due to a error in the package downloaded from phpBB.nl, if you didn't download it from there you should open a new topic.

Why, have you been editing core code? Try following Knowledge Base - Updating 3.2.x

This is unfortunately an issue in the migration that was overlooked and will be fixed asap. In the mean time the issue can also be solved with this on other DBMS types:
Fix: Open phpbb/db/migration/data/v32x/fix_user_styles.php & find:

Code: Select all

$enabled_styles = $result->fetch_array();
Replace with:

Code: Select all

$enabled_styles = $this->db->sql_fetchrowset($result);

The timeout problem was caused by the dutch package download. That's fixed now but when i try to upload the complete package and update it gives the error:

The file differ failed to open Array.
[phpBB Debug] "file_get_contents(../install/update/new/language/nl/email/user_resend_inactive.txt): failed to open stream: No such file or directory" in file /home/name/public_html/test_forum/forum/install/update/new/phpbb/install/module/update_filesystem/task/diff_files.php on line 182
[phpBB Debug] "Array to string conversion" in file /home/name/public_html/test_forum/forum/install/update/new/phpbb/language/language.php on line 313

Anyone?
