What makes you think the post count isn't accurate? Do you have the Increment post counter turned on?

ACP> Permissions> Groups forum permissions> Select the registered users and the forum you want to check> Advanced permissions> misc (or may be post tab now) tab> Increment post counter

Can you supply a link to your board and post a screencap of where it shows the wrong statistic please?

You're waiting for assistance with inaccurate post statistics on a forum with 1 post?
First of all, the assistance has been there, even though you hardly gave any information about your forum (see https://www.phpbb.com/support/srt/ which would at least give the support team some basic information.

Next, as mentioned: a forum with 1 post, in other words it's probably just been set up. One option would be to give an admin account to a SupportTteam member so that he could see for himself.
On the other hand, what's stopping you from reinstalling? That should take max 30 minutes (compare that to the time elapsed since opening this topic).
Perhaps was just an random hickup (unknown cause), and if not at least there will be a confirmation that something is interfering in your setup.
Spelling is freeware, which means you can use it for free.
On the other hand, it is not open source, which means you cannot change it or publish it in a modified form.

by reinstalling, I will not lose any posts or members right? from what i understand there are held in database..

admin panel
manage forums
click the resync icon next to the forum where the numbers are wrong.

If that doesn't fix it, by the time you get more than 20-30 posts no one is going to notice if it's out by 1.

Hey thank you all for the assistance, i've found the root of the problem.

That was because i installed Gerr blog mod extension, and posted 2 test blog contents initially. By uninstalling it, it doesnt remove the post from my database. and forum statistic will just read the 2 test contents i've posted.
now that i manually delete the "posts" and "topics" in myphpadmin. Lesson learnt.

Sorry for being a total noob, still learning how it works with extensions and all.

thank you supporting team.

Did you back up the database before you did that?
The tables are all interlinked with various bits of information. It's not wise to just delete bits. You might have just made your problem worse for the sake of a number no one will look at.

OK but that doesn't mean everything else is right in the database.
