The problem is not with ELNOW directly but with the footer links extension probably because they are outside the page - I will take a look and see if there is anything I can do

In the footer link extension you can also set the option to open links in new tabs.
I disabled that options, because they already do the same with the ELNOW extension.
But the problem stays the same.

The banner extension is doing just the same when i'm logged in.
Setting the value to 0 in the database was only for the anonymous account. (The PM you sended me)
This is the banner ext: https://www.phpbb.nl/forums/viewtopic.php?f=95&t=60519
End the footer ext: https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/exte ... _linklist/

I also noticed that when I accept the Privacy Policy with my normal admin account
I cannot accept them with my test account on the same computer.
Everything works on the test account without needing to accept Privacy Policy

That is the way that it has always worked and works on every other cookie acceptance. When you accept cookies it writes a cookie to say that you have accepted the cookie - there is no way to link it to a user as, at that point, there is no way of knowing who the user is.

If you go on another device then it will ask you for the cookie acceptance again

David, in my test environment I have accepted policy two days ago. Today I've started xampp, ran phpbb test site, (no visible info about cookies), try to log out... and I see a message "Cookie Acceptance Required - You must accept the Cookie Policy ..." and I can not logout. In UCP I see "Policy acceptance date: Policy has not been accepted".
What happens??? I will have a moment for further tests on Wednesday.

If someone wish to use a German translation - you can find one here (david63 github status: 2018-03-27)
My 2 cents: Whether an extension is in the CDB says nothing about its quality. It is more important to read the support topics for it. Better to avoid authors who do not answer support questions themselves, who do not update their stuff, and who do not fix bugs for years.

David, am I right this extension aims to provide just an acceptance of the new incomining GDPR and that's it?

I mean, it doesn't implement any kinda option to download all of the user's data and then delete itself from the Board?

And no, I didn't lurk at your code yet, hence this questions.

Since I do have all of the related code in my pocket I would like to know what would it be better to me to do here...
... like making an add-on or create a brand new extension.

Users can see a report of their data that is held on the board's database. Not sure what you mean by downloading and then deleting itself!

Like FB does now in respect to this stuffs, I have downloaded all of my data and deleted myself.

14 days (9 left) and my profile shouldn't be there, nor in the FB's DB, hopefully.
Well, not that I have something to hide, just I hated the way they acted lastly, see the news.
That's another story though. :)

Would it be advisable to change the name of the existing cookie when installing this new extension?

What should be done?
Just change the name and that's enough?

Thanks in advance!

GDPR gives you the right to transfer your data to another service provider. For this purpose, the data should be able to be downloaded in a known format enabling their import to another system. David's extension displays profile data on a separate card but now there is no option to save them, for example to csv. I do not think we have so much data to do it. Unless we consider all of the posts and PM as personal data. Then the harder thing. We delete the contents of our websites which probably no administrator wants.
The question I have already asked returns. Is the post personal data or not? If so, you can not refuse to delete them. You can anonymize data, but if the post would contain, for example, contact details, then the anonymisation of the author's nickname will not do anything.
But this is another topic. David's extension give us possibility to do reports by users for themself. It is not all what GDPR wants but very needed.

It depends on whether you want the cookie to be accepted again or not - although if you force GDPR acceptance then cookie acceptance will also be required.

Whilst that may be true in many cases it would be totally impractical as it would mean manually going through possibly thousands of posts which would not happen, and what if you should miss one? Also by totally deleting a user's posts you would destroy the flow of topics - in fact you would run the risk of destroying your board. And that is before you take into account quoted posts.

How can a "public post" be personal data? When you talk to somebody, your words are not personal/private. If something is on your mind & you keep quiet by not spitting out a thing, then that is private/personal. Everything you do by an act, that others can feel by there senses is not personal, because you share it.

PS. Nice & useful extension.

Don't know if it's relevant, but when someone asks to delete all his/her posts, then you are normally obliged to delete everything. Just the same as google works. If you don't like being in a google search, you may ask to delete all that data on google.
