Re: [3.2][DEV] Trackers

Post by nou nou »

Do you think it would be useful to add a ticket type?

So for some trackers you could have types like crash, ui, feature,... Or you could then hack the type to have a single tracker for multiple projects.

Or, you could perhaps even make it a feature of allowing an arbitrary number of types/status/...

Just thinking out loud... :)

Isn't the name of this extension a bit misleading?

When I first saw this I thought it was tracking which pages users had visited.

I agree with you.

It is a tool to report bugs with a ticket system?

Yes, it seems to be a development tracker.

Or, when submitting a new ticket, there could be a ticketing form with pre-defined (in ACP/?) custom fields (with drop-down and other options) that could then be used as a display or sorting or search filter.

Anyway hope you don't mind my ramblings, you may have already thought of all of this yourself. Just being keen... :)

I been waiting on something like this since it was abandoned on 3.0 lol.

Do you have any ETA on an alpha release, do you need testers?

I am highly interested!

What would you suggest?

Still developing. I will announce when a release is made (no ETA yet).

Either "Ticket Tracker" ie no "s" at the end or "Issues Tracker".

More updates. Tickets can be set as possibly invalid (the orange/yellow color) or severe (red). It is also possible to only show tickets to users that they reported and/or tickets that are not private. Groups (designated via ACP module) can be allowed to see tickets regardless of settings. Duplicates link to the original ticket.

Does the extension have a normal editor? Is it compatible with the extension "Topic Template"?

Do you use a special template to fill the ticket?

Not sure what you mean. I plan on using a slightly modified phpBB posting page, but will need a place for the additional ticket fields.

Until I start coding the posting page, I can't say.

The ticket text will only be the text (with BBCode options of course). The rest are f the ticket fields will be selectable boxes/drop-down menu.

That sounds good.

Do you have any screenshots if you have clicked on "New Ticket"?

No. As I stated above, the posting page has not been developed yet. The information you are seeing in the screenshots was manually inserted into the DB by me. ;)
