When a user data is displayed by your extension, it seems that all custom fields that I have created are ignored. I have created an optional custom profile field that, indeed, contains data linked to the user's identity, and it would be desirable to have this field displayed so my users are reminded of its existence
That is by design as I have no way of knowing what any CPF contains or how to display it which is why I put events within the extension so that you can add any other data that you have via another extension.

As a user, I can correctly display all my personal data in my UCP, including all IP addresses I have used. However, if I want to display the data of another user in the ACP, all my IP addresses are shown. All other profile data are correct. I do not know if this is only on my test board or if it can be reproduced on yours.
I will need to look into that.

As I mentioned in a PM to another user, it is possible to completely block user registration for visitors outside of the EU with the "wrong" options: e.g. if I require the cookie policy to be accepted before registering ... when the cookie popup is only shown to EU-based IP addresses
The EU check has been removed as there were too many errors with the lookup and the server was unreliable - it may go back in at a future date.

Finally, to my knowledge the cookie popup can only be shown on the top part of the pages, as opposed to previously in RC1 where I could choose between bottom left and bottom right. Is it a deliberate choice?
That is by design.

Nice work David.

Does installing the extension turn Contact Us on? I'm fairly (fairly) certain I had it turned off previous to the install.

Not that I am aware - and certainly not by design!

Try changing the CPF name by adding the prefix phpbb_ or create name CPF with prefix phpbb_

Edit:
I've just checked. The RC3 version displays CPF fields if they start with phpbb_. There is only a problem with the language. Although in the edition of the profile I have the PL language and the setting works in PL, the Private Data tab displays the value in EN and the field name in PL.

The extension displays the position "user's posts", that is, however, do you treat posts as private personal data? I guess everyone here convinced me that posts on the public forum can not be private. Uhmm ... I do not know what to think about it. Because if it is private data, then it will be necessary to export them on demand and delete them with the deletion of the account. Since there is no unambiguous solution to this problem, it would be good to have an option to disable links to user posts in the settings. This is just my suggestion.

David, thank you for your work.
Sorry my english. I hope You understand what I mean.

David, thank you very much for your answers!

I certainly do not want to be the one nagging for details that I can style with custom CSS (e.g. cookie popup position) Once again I really appreciate the time you are taking for developing and supporting this extension, making our life much easier.

tojag, your input was perfect and I was able to add the custom profile field I wanted by creating a copy of the existing CPF prefixed with phpbb_, and running the following command in phpMyAdmin (in case anyone else needs it:

Code: Select all

UPDATE DATABASENAME.phpbb3_profile_fields_data SET `pf_phpbb_newCPF`=`pf_oldCPF`
With all these answers, I am ready to go!

The French translation is done, except for the ACP at the moment. I will send everything to david63 once I am done, but should anyone be interested in the meantime, feel free to PM me!

This is not my merit :) David was write it as an answer to my ask when I had a problem with it on start. It is somewhere in this topic.

Thank you for creating this extension!
I've installed and enabled it on my test site, but I can't find where to configure it.

There should be menu options under "Privacy policy" on the Extensions tab in the APC

Hello David,
First of all thank you for this extension.
Board is PHPBB 3.2.2 / Extension is v 2.1.0 RC3
When you are on Policy page (the link in the footer - www.***.com/privacypolicy/policy) and select the link next to it - Delete all board cookies you receive the following error.

Code: Select all

Unable to find template "body" (looked into:
/forum/ext/david63/privacypolicy/styles/all/template,
/forum/ext/david63/privacypolicy/styles/all/theme,
/forum/styles/prosilver/template,
/forum/styles/prosilver/theme,
/forum/styles/all/template).
Cookies are not cleared and session is still active. On other pages this problem does not occur.
I'd appreciate your help here :)

I don't see it. I have reinstalled the extension from the first post by uploading it (and renaming), after deleting data and removing the extension.

I do have the user's privacy settings under Users and Groups, and I have the privacy stuff in the UCP. But not the configuration part in the ACP.

There should be menu options under "Privacy policy" on the Extensions tab in the APC
The tabs that go across the page, not down the left hand side

There are no horizontal tabs within the Extensions tab on my installation, only the vertical items:

But I've found my problem: By default only someone from the Administrator group can see the privacy policy configuration items. I was testing on my testsite with an account I use for my main site's administrators, who have custom groups. As soon as I logged in with the installation account, everything was fine.
