[board root]/ext/david63/privacypolicy/composer.json (and the other files/folder)
No idea - it has not been submitted yet and then it depends on how many issues are found with it
Big: No! (to the red thing).bill1980 wrote: ↑Tue May 22, 2018 3:19 pm Going to try one last post and I will leave it at that as dont want to spam this thread any more than what i've done.
Instruction says
Upload the unzipped files to [board root]/ext/david63/privacypolicy
So I have copied the files to the privacypolicy folder as instructed an exact copy is as follows
/httpdocs/forum/ext/david63/privacypolicy/david63-privacypolicy-3.2
No sign of it in my ACP 'Manage extensions'
Hello David.david63 wrote: ↑Tue May 22, 2018 10:17 am When you create a translation there is a text box at the top with the policy name pre filled in (Cookie Policy) which you can/should change to be in your own language. The only way that you could change it is by editing the database as I have not built in an editing procedure for that field.

Nope, all above my level of knowledge and dont understand the instructions. Going to have to give up.
Like I said i've tried
1) Adding the new download/extension (david63-privacypolicy-3.2) into the ext folder along with all my other extensions - Didnt work
2) Tried following the advice by creating the directory root/ext/david63/privacypolicy then adding the new files into that - Didnt work
Strange as i've added extensions before without issue. Know its user error my side and do appreciate the offer of help. I will leave it at that. Thanks.
Possibly - but there is no facility to have .txt files and be able to manipulate them. But the main issue is that an extension must be "self contained" that is all files must be in the extension. Yes there are ways around that by saving them to the store folder, but creating/editing/manipulating them is not that easy.
I looked at your admin panel & ftp, and the ext is in the right place.bill1980 wrote: ↑Tue May 22, 2018 5:33 pm https://s7.postimg.cc/3uuxgxsvv/Untitled.png
Yep, thats what I thought I had
Correct - but essentially you have created a file in another language and not changed the title, even though there is a message recommending that you do.
Again correct. That is because you have two language files - the default Englisg one that needs to be there as a "fall back" and the new one in your language.
But this also has the advantage that you can install this extension without having a language file translation and you can have the policy files translatable in your language.tlem wrote: ↑Tue May 22, 2018 10:09 pm In addition, it appears that it is not possible to translate policy text directly into the extention installation file. It is therefore mandatory to install and then manually update the text of each policy for each language. If you use multiple languages, it's really not very convenient.
OK you can have your bottle of wine back
