If I upgrade to phpbb 3.2.2 would any of my extensions be affected? Could any issues result?
How could anyone know, nobody knows your extensions. Try it with a test board. And yes, issues can result. But this is not a support topic.
I can't set up a test forum with all the same extensions installed on it just for this. That would take hours. I just have some standard extensions.

What if issues result? Can I undo the upgrade from the automatic update package?

it would not take hours. it only takes a couple of minutes to setup a test board on your server or on your computer at home.

once setup, installing extensions only takes a couple of minutes each.
if you find they don't work you simply uninstall them or, if you have done a test board just delete the test board.
and finally, you should not use the auto update to begin with, use the instructions here:
https://www.phpbb.com/support/docs/en/3 ... ating-32x/

oh, RC1 stands for release candidate #1

But I have to use the auto update package, because some of my core files are edited. Remember? Why do you guys seem biased against the auto update method? It sounds the most user friendly and probably most will opt for it.

Also how do you uninstall an upgrade? There are many files involved so I don't think it's easy or automatic to do that. I don't see any button in the ACP to undo an upgrade.

You could probably just post a list of your installed extensions and ask if anyone has tried any of them on 3.2.

Or you could visit each extension page and ask there, some of them will already have posts asking if they work on 3.2.

Restore the backup that you made prior to doing the update

for whatever reason the auto update is broken for 3.2.2

some people can use it but many many can not because it just times out or throws errors.

also, the auto update is not the quickest or easiest way to update. the file replacement method is the quickest and easiest.
you just delete all the old files except for the ones mentioned in the instructions and replace them with all new files. then you run the database update script from the install folder and you are done.

anyway, if for some reason you have been editing the core phpbb files then no, you would not be able to use the normal file replacement method without having to redo any and all of those edits.

however, if the file that you edited has been changed in the update/upgrade you would have make those edits on a new file anyway.

luck,
robert
