You are supposed to browse to it with your web browser. Did you upload that file there? You are not supposed to upload the zip file.

It works, worked for everyone who used it but you.

Anyway, go to your DB and look at the table phpbb_config (phpbb_ could be your DB table prefix)..

.. search cookie_notice then set its config_value to 0.

Let's say that problems are different here.

1 - there is not a BUGGED file here
2 - the file you downloaded which I provided does NOT fix any file, since there is no one.
3 - the file as the the point 2 does set the the phpbb_config->cookie_notice->config_value to 0.

Why should I have talked about the DB if the file does the same thing?

your choices:

1 - run the file from the correct location
2 - read this one viewtopic.php?p=15050486#p15050486

Both do the same thing.

It seems that you simply did not understand anything about this whole subject.

the file he created just edits the database.

you only need the php file, it has to be in the root of your board, there is no other file with that name so you are not overwriting anything with it.

the file he created doesn't do anything until/unless you actually go to it in your browser.

since you did not understand all of that, he tried to help even more by telling you how to do the database change manually,

that confused you even more so you come back calling names and claiming that he is not helping you.

it seems that you may be the "troll" here.

simply follow the very simple easy to do instructions he gave you at the beginning and it will all work out just fine.

Why is not cookie_notis available for?
