In most cases, yes. Because it is only a new minor version.

To be 100 percent sure, just test it in a parallel test installation, before you update your productive board.

Or ask the author who's responsibility it is.

What is a parallel test installation?

Does that have something to do with Xampp, or what?

On the same server as your productive board in a subdomain/-directory a copy of your board to test new styles, extensions, updates etc.

Okay, that's what I thought and I may do that with a domain I'm not using right now. I just mentioned this on another topic.

About subdomains, I guess that would work as well. But I think I've read that subdomains don't play well in terms of keeping your origin IP hidden under CloudFlare, which I'm pretty paranoid about. I do right now however share a gaming stats banner and I full well know that the gaming server has most likely logged my origin IP. So long as they aren't hacked I should be good to go, right? :geek:

At last i have found the answer to when phpBB will have the next release - when I am away on holiday.

Almost every release since 3.1 has occurred when I am away - and no I will not tell anyone when I am next on holiday!!!

If everyone adopted that attitude nobody would ever update.

There is a reason why RC versions are released - to see what the problems are and minimise them.

hey, cut them a little slack. I am sure that they waited and waited trying to figure out how to get the new update released while you were home but just couldn't work it in between your holidays
