Smilies import not working on 3.2

Post by static1635 »

I have uploaded to the images/smiles

I have done this many times on 3.0 but with this one I click to add and it says "submitted form not valid"

Is there an actual "support" ticket option here?

No "official support ticket" that I'm aware of; just phpBB project members and phpBB project users contributing their time.

I had been able to save the current smilies configuration from my 3.0.14 board and load that configuration into my resulting 3.2.2 board without issue, which I'm assuming is similar to where your .pak came from. If your .pak came from an even earlier version of phpBB then maybe there are additional differences.

When I look at my .pak file with Notepad++, it's a file that doesn't begin with any byte order mark (BOM), and is using Unix-style line endings (LF) as opposed to Windows CR/LF. There does also happen to be a space character at the end of each line, after the comma that is at the end of each line. The encoding says it's UTF-8, but there aren't any characters in the file outside the normal ASCII range in my case.

That's all I can think to look for or describe as remarkable about the file, other than the data lines themselves which are presumably exactly as you would expect:

Code: Select all

'help.png', '32', '32', '1', 'question', ':?:',
I don't know how closely the format would be preserved if you attached your .pak to a post here (renaming to .txt if necessary), but I'm sure many could take a look in case something else unusual was apparent in the file you're actually attempting to use.

Unfortunately I was unable to export from the old forum, I just re-uploaded by ftp and was trying to import them individually. When I confirm it simply gives me an error page "form was not valid"

Take a screenshot of the page just before you click add so we can see what you've entered in to the boxes.
Might be the hosts mod_security not liking one of the entered values.

For what it's worth from here, entering those data values didn't cause an invalid form when submitting the changes for me on 3.2.2. But I wasn't using the actual image file you were using, so that remains a variable. If you want to attach the .GIF here, would be happy to try adding exactly that image, in case it's the key to any fundamental issue.

Does the server error log say anything?

I can't see anything unusual in what you've entered which makes me think it's a server side issue.

The error log doesn't give much away.

There appears to be a 'File does not exist' issue with robots.txt and an html file called 'missing', does that mean anything?

No, it's not a vanilla phpBB file
