In order to fix this issue we’ve removed the ability to define absolute paths in the Admin Control Panel. This resulted in the removal of setting the ImageMagick path, so make sure to have the GD image library available instead. A new event to generate thumbnails was added as replacement, so you’re able to write an extension that uses a different image library to generate thumbnails.
Thanks for the update Marc.

you don't need to do 3.2.3 first. however, do NOT use the autoupdate package.
do the full file replacement method mentioned in the instructions.

Many thanks Robert. Yes, I read elsewhere about Auto Update issues and so never have, manual always works well for me 8-)

Wrong link given there, Marc. It should be viewforum.php?f=556

Thanks for the update, everyone. It went smooth as always.

Is there an update to the manual or is the 3.2.3 Manual still good?
(I don't want to print the 3.2.3 manual if it is now obsolete)

I understand that, but what I don't understand is this about the patch files.
The patch file package is for those wanting to update through the patch application, and should only be used by those who are comfortable with it.

The patch file is one solution for those with changes in to the phpBB core files and do not want to re-add them back to all the changed files. To use this you will need command line access to a standard UNIX type patch application. If you do not have access to such an application, but still want to use this update approach, we strongly recommend the Automatic update package explained below. It is also the recommended update method.
I bolded what I am unsure about.

Thanks for the update, pbpBB team. :D

Hi, thanks for the update!

One quick question: I'm looking at updating my styles manually and use the code changes documentation to do this. When I click on any of the files listed under '3.2.3 to 3.2.4' it says 'NO VISIBLE CHANGES'. Am I missing something, or will these be updated later?

Thanks :geek:

We recently changed the recommended update method and that's a leftover text. Thanks for letting us know, we will be changing that.

For now the recommended updating method is file replacement (when you don't have too many manual code changes which you shouldn't have) and the automatic updater is just there as a fall-back method for people with heavily modified boards who rely on it.
