Installation Woes

Post by Kenshin_Takai »

Good evening!

I am attempting to install a development copy of PHPBB 3.2.5 on my local box (no public access), and seem to have run into a snag.

I am able to navigate to the Install page, however when I click upon the Install tab, it simply loops back around to Overview. Other platforms, such as phpMyAdmin and Drupal work well, so I'm not certain if it is cookie related, or something else. I've tried several different browsers, and two machines [Vivaldi, Opera, Safari, Chrome], all with completely purged cache and cookies. I am able to access the local development box over the LAN with both machines.

Below are my specifications:

Code: Select all

Bind 9.11.3
PHP 7.2.14
NGINX 1.14.2
MariaDB 10.3.4
Redis 4.0.12
Memcached 1.5.5
Any idea what might be taking place here? Any guidance, insight, or assistance would be incredibly appreciated.
My sincerest of thanks, in advance. Wishing you all the best.

In the docs folder there is NGINX sample config file "nginx.sample.conf".
You need to add some rewrite rules.

For Apache HTTPD this is done automatically with the .htaccess file in the root.
Nginx is more for advanced users.
