Bypass Word censure

Post by Jesper Møller »

I'm would like to be able to let my admin to bypass word censure
so that he is able to write words that other can't but so that others stil can read it but not write it
So that the admin can make a topic about a word and explain why its censured from the forum

is that possible ??

ACP, Permissions tab, Group permissions, Administrators group, Post tab, Can disable word censors, Yes. This is the dafault, BTW.

user see the word if admin wrote it but not if other wrote it

The word censure only apply on word written by other than Admin

yes, that is exactly what happens by default. the censor does not apply to people in the admin group. make sure your admin user is in the admin group.
and make sure it is set like steve posted above.

There is no way to turn it off for the user viewing the page based on who wrote the post. It's possible with an extension.

Out of interest why do you want to censor a word that is in a post by a member but allow the same word if it is by an Admin?

So the admin can write a post and explain the reason for the censur

E.G.

We have chose to censur the word "ABA treatment" Do to the fact that the government don't recognize it as a effective or reliable treatment and find it potentionel harmfull we can and will therefor not endorse it in the forum

And they'll just write A B A instead. The word censor isn't a 'catch all'.

Yes but not why ;)

Also the global editors would be able to discuss word censure in the closed forum if the could use the words

No, I mean they can put spaces in between the letters in different orders. You can't catch all eventualities of a phrase.

Make a rule that something can't be named. Have it in an announcement. Have mods that enforce its deletion.

Another option could be for the Moderators to use the strikeout bbCode and then edit the post striking out the "censored" words/phases and then within the post their reason for doing it.
