Emoticons problem after SSL and Update to 3.2.5

Post by Farofylakas » Mon Feb 11, 2019 12:08 pm

A couple of smalle problems have appeared after installing Let's Encrypt and upgrading to the newest version of phpBB (3.2.5)

For example, when posting a new post, a couple of smilies cause the smilie, together with what follows, to disappear. Two such problematic smilies have the codes:

:χαχα:

When you re-edit the post, you realize that the smilie together with everything that followed it, don't exist anymore.

Check this thread, for example. I typed:

Code: Select all

test1 :μαναι: test2 test3 :ρ test4 test5
You can see that the 1st smilie works with no problem. the second one, though, deletes what follows.

Any ideas as to why?

after installing Let's Encrypt
And what happens if you uninstall Let's Encrypt?

It's been some time now that I installed Let's Encrypt and things worked fine. This particular problem appeared yesterday, after the update to 3.2.5

And did you update your we_universal style to be compatible with 3.2.5 as I see you appear to be using version 2.5.5 which is certainly not the latest version.

I surely did. I did follow instructions.

Where do you see that old version?

Here's what I see:
styles.jpg
for the rest, it seems that all onder posts have been corrupt by the emoticon problem.

I told everyone to stop posting, since we might need to get back to the pre-updtate db backup. For the time being my forum is suffering.

Any ideas as to what went so wrong with the emoticons?

Your style version = 2.5.5 according to your style.cfg

The latest version = 2.5.6 (https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/download/160726)
A bug is a feature that hasn't made it to the manual (yet)
