This seems more appropriate for Halloween, so 10/31 might be a date I'd set (maybe with Fred The Bat!). :)
This would be perfect !

I have tried adding a 'date switch' to show/hide as appropriate but somehow the code just isn't coming together correctly. Sorry.

Unfortunately, I had hoped.
Always forget to switch it on

If it does, please send me a PM. Shame it couldn't happen within the next week, but I'll try to remember to manually toggle it this time. :)

Aww. Poor little bugs. This is just plain sick. How could you just kill such little sweeties. You're so heartless. :( :( :(

Probably the funniest phpBB extension ever :lol:

1.0.0-RC2 now available.

Code tidied, Spiders and flies will not work if the user has JS disabled and are disabled.

Update from previous version:
  • Download the latest release and unzip it.
  • Disable April Fools in the ACP
  • Delete aprilfools folder from the server
  • Upload the folder hifikabin to root/ext/
  • Enable it in the ACP

A quick question: is it possible to change

Code: Select all

{% if S_INDEX %}
to another variable to view the insects maybe only on the portal-startpage ?
Yes, assuming that your portal has a similar switch. Without know what extension you are using I can not advise further.
It's "Board3 Portal" v2.1.0 on phpBB 3.2.2

Hi

sorry to ask again ...

The link you have given is for a 3.1.x portal. Are you still using 3.1.x? Remember, 3.1.x support ended some time ago.

I have had another look and I can not see how to add the Bugs to the Portal, sorry

Cool! I never even seen this extension before until now. For Halloween maybe add flying bats?

:lol: Downloaded and will use near and on Halloween. Thanks!

I like bats. If you ever seen one up close they are really cute and have little pushed in noses. They are like a mouse with leather wings. Really fascinating creature and they help get rid of tons and tons of bugs up to and including the PITA mosquito. I hate those damn things and they spread west Nile and other crap.

So the bat is cool, but it doesn't look like it renders in a smartphone or probably won't render in a tablet which makes sense given it's functionality. So with that, any plans on adding bats as an option to this extension for Halloween? I see the sprite, but I don't know how to add my own images so that they are rendered and animated. Interesting to note, in the game Flight Simulator FSX, the effects files use so-called "sprites." I don't know exactly know what that means, but the images that are used for the effects are just like the png images in this extension. It's like the code extracts the image from the black background and animates it somehow. Here I thought you used a simple gif and was prepared to add bats my self. :D

You can make Fred appear on all screen sizes with one edit. The question really should be on Freds topic, but as we are here

OPEN

hifikabin/fredthebat/styles/all/template/event/overall_header_body_before.html

FIND AND DELETE

Code: Select all

 class="responsive-hide"
SAVE > UPLOAD > PURGE CACHE

All other Fred related questions should be asked HERE
