Please delete, move or rename the install directory before you use your board. If this directory is still present, only the Administration Control Panel (ACP) will be accessible.

Why?

You need to delete the /install folder when the update is done. Your forum won't work if you keep that folder. Browse to yourforum.com/install/app.php/install to start the update.

Why would I delete the install folder if I'm trying to enter it to update?

I'm not able to update is what I'm trying to get at.

There's a safety measure when it recognises that a folder called /install is present. It's letting you know it's there. If you need it to do the update that's fine.

You only need to do the auto update if you have hard coded changes to the files though. Otherwise you're better off doing the full file update.

It's also worth noting there are a couple of issues with 3.2.6 and as such 3.2.7 is not far away.

did you replace the files with the new ones? did you then run the install update so that you can update the database?

if so, then you should remove that folder so you wont get that message because you are finished with the update.

until you have done all the steps of the update you should not be trying to access the board. once you have finished the update you remove that folder.

Surely you’ve done this since 2005?
