Backup

Post by ib-mto » Mon Jun 17, 2019 9:18 am

I have a quick newbie question: How do I backup my phpBB forum the easiest way?

Both files/DB - basically everything.

go to admin panel maintenance tab, then database then backup. choose full.
once the database is backed up, go to your ftp , go to the folder named store and download that backup file to your computer.
while in the ftp, backup all the files in your phpbb folder to your computer.

done.
I'm baaaaaccckkkk. still doing work on donation basis. PM your needs.

You really only need to backup the /images, /ext, /files and /store folders and the config.php file. The others never change. You can also backup the /styles folder and /language folders if you have custom styles or languages other then British English.

Easiest way to backup the database is to use one of several extensions which do it automatically at frequencies you choose.
