Thanks!

(which reminds me I should wrap it up and propose it as a an official extension. I've been using it long enough without finding a bug)

Please do, this is a good extension and much needed :)

Would we be able to display it based on the thread/topic? For example if we have a "File Requests" topic can we display "Please read our rules before posting in this topic. Requests for pirated software in this topic will be removed" etc.

I guess it's technically possible.

But I'm not sure how I can display a list of topics/threads to choose from in the admin pages. I mean something usable (my board has almost 7000 topics) :?

How about a field in the extension's options in ACP to manually put in the topic/thread number? That would be sweet if that could be done.

Hi guys!

I love this extension, already !

But i have a question.
When the notification will disappear ?
A button in the corner will be functionnal to delete the notification for the member ?

I explain:

If in the future i want to use the extension and create the notification "Don't forget to do an introduction" for the members registered less than 10 days. If the member did his introduction, he can delete his notification or this will stay during the 10 days ??

Thanks for your future answers and Congrats for this idea.

Click on the cross in the right upper corner.
But make sure you have enable this

Board notice can be dismissed:
The user will have the option to click on a close button (which by default is a cross at the right corner of the notice) to hide the notice. It will come back depending on your configuration.
Sorry! My English is bat ;) !!!

You can also add combine it with one of these two:
  • User has never posted (takes into account posts waiting for approval)
  • User has never posted in any of these forums (including posts waiting for approval)

Yes, sure, I can give it a try

But it's not actually as straightforward as it sounds: It's all managed by the template you're using, I don't think phpBB is aware of what kind of device is browsing the forum.

I'll have a think

I wonder if you could do something like what Sniper_E did. With his mobile detect extension, if you are on a mobile device it will/can display a message in the header for the mobile device only, and other cool stuff. I have been running it on my forums for ages now.

Hi,

At first glance it looks like it forces you to keep a list of "user-agent" to know which ones are mobiles devices. That's something I would really want to avoid. That's high maintenance.

I'll install the extension and give it a go though

Yeah, thats the only way to determine if you're on a mobile device or not I think. Otherwise phpBB is just responsive and doesnt actually detect a mobile device. I can just adjust the size of my browser on my desktop and trigger the mobile (responsive) view.
