If this helps anybody take it with my blessing. Personally I would LOVE to see this as standard in PHPBB Prosilver and you choose your border width, colour, border style etc.
BUT.............. I am no Guru in php. :geek:  SO I get by like this. ;)

FYI you have an HTML comment in the middle of a tag. That's not valid and it can cause the markup to be misinterpreted:

Code: Select all

<!--Not commonly used anymore but splat out inner borders of every cell but outer edge -->
I wrote the thing that does BBCodes in 3.2.

I assume anyone creating thewir own BBCodes in PHPBB will delete the explanatories.
It's just that I recall when I first started out (1994 html + Pascal) I relied on a lot of the explanatories added in and I started before C became C++ and etc.
People were still using Amstrad 1512's with 1/2 meg of ram and a 20meg HDD. Oh yeah. We thought we were so cool with giant 5 inch floppy disks that really were bendy.
And after seeing Gallery3 go down because the original programmers stated that they'd all got married and had kids since they started out with Gallery1 I am suddenly aware that I am growing old. :P Well, Im too busy growing up to grow old.
So I am under no doubts that newbies to php and servers and bbcode are crawling out of cribs and infront of 'puters.
We gotta look after them too and teach 'em right as they grow. ;)

yep, 20MB 3.5inch hard drives were huge.
like the guy who was head of IBM in those days said..." who would ever need more than 256k of memory".

Wasn't it Bill of Microsoft when talking about a new MSDOS version?

1. It was Bill Gates and it was 640KB RAM
2. He didn't say that, it's an internet fallacy
3. I like the idea of comments in code, it helps everyone out. If it breaks... remove it.

Not forgetting the 384KB upper memory often used for TSR’s such as keyboard, language, screen and printer drivers etc.

Strueth.... Dos=umb .... that made me laugh.
ECHO
and... Oh yeah.. CLS.

AND tapping out all those ascii codes to make "borders" and "boxes" and "double borders".

I had a 486 DX2 66Mhz with 8Megs ram (woah!) and my batch files were sometimes 3 paragraphs long all starting a STARTUP menu system so that I could choose to run such phenominally advanced and exciting programs like...
SOUNDBLASTER v.1. (Stereo... yup, its true.)
DOOM I
DOOM II
HEXEN
DUKE NUKEM 3D
And
INSTALL MULTIMEDIA CDROM DRIVE
AND 1 or 2 megs graphics memory @ £120 a meg.

Oh yeah! :geek: We didnt skimp on expenses.  :D

OMG yes them were the days.

I started with a 486 sx 25 - a packard bell 435 elite, and an 8bit soundblaster! Cost me £1200 back in the day.
512KB of video RAM and 2MB of system RAM.
Oh yeah and an 80MB HDD

Quemm was excellent at freeing up base memory (640KB) and moving everything to the upper memory block, but buggy as hell, and it was only a script, once you knew how it worked... you didn't need it again :)

I never bothered much with batch programming, I did everything manually.
c:
cd \
cd doom
doom
:)

Sorry to the OP... we got a little off topic.
I have this installed but not selectable, but man it takes me back.
