This is a good idea extension. I need this extension soooo much. Just one problem is, I don't want to preview image on all forum. It would be better if we can turn it on/off for each forum.

This has been updated to RC2 with a download link on the first post.

Updates include:

Admin can use forum-based permissions to allow the forums and usergroups they want to see image previews
Image previews work in search results (as topics), and they will respect any forum/usergroup permissions.
Image previews work with Precise Similar Topics, and they will respect any forum/usergroup permissions.

Upon install/update, the permissions will be copied from who can view topics. So if a user can view a list of topics in a given forum, they can see the image previews. You can adjust the permissions from there if you want to restrict image previews for any usergroups in any forums.

The toggles for search results and similar topics will allow you to disable previews on those topics if you want. They will be enabled by default though. And they will respect the permissions settings, so, for example, a search result that comes from a forum that a user is not allowed to see image previews on, will not see the preview when hovering on that topic in the search results list.

I appreciate the addition of the per-forum permission. Is it currently possible or planned to allow using this extension side by side with Topic Preview, so that certain forums show preview of images and other forums show the normal text preview? This would be useful for boards that have sections for images and other sections for discussions without images.

This actually is a good idea but I think it even better if we can combine 2 extensions together. Like in each forum setting we can choose what kind of preview we wanna show such as Text, Image, Both or None.
