Hit with Tremendous Spam

Due to our failure to apply anti-spam measures, we have just been attacked with unbelievable spam of more than 800 posts, with each post numbering about 40 lines. all of them coming from

rev.poneytelecom.eu with IP Address 62-210-177-44

Kindly bear with us as we remove all the posts resulting from these spammers, who, hopefully, will soon be infected with COVID-19 and the Swine Flu.

I will update this post with suggestions on how to improve the Quick Tools feature.

As far as I know, the Swine plague does not affect humans. And neither do robots.

Maybe even enable the new user function (Newly Registered Users) so all new users are on the Moderation Queue.

Edit: Also, having a "for spammers only" forum will not help you. Many spammers are bots and have no sense of decency.

On a scale of 1 - 10 I would put a spammer at 1 and Covid-19 at 100.

There are cures/preventative measures to prevent spam - unfortunately the same cannot be said of Covid-19

OT: There are measures to be taken to prevent being affected by Covid, just know them and apply them.

I don't think any modification to quick tools would make up for lack of anti-spam measures.

Yeah, I personaly noticed that. Cross-posting or the likes, like a spammer if I can say. IMHO.

I also noticed that, though I didn't comment. My guess is that he just couldn't be bothered to write another post so he recycled most of the same text.

It was worse when it had massive text.

apparently, all of these spammers are in the Registered Users group.

What happens exactly when a user is removed from this group - where is the user sent, is the user deleted from the board?

and what happens to the user's post(s) when the user is deleted from the group?

I am afraid to try it because the user might be deleted from the board but his post(s) might be retained, so I need to know exactly what actually happens.
