YaBB Gold >> phpBB2 conversion?

Hello.. I would have posted this in the conversion forum, but it doesn't let me post topics..

I own a YaBB 1 Gold - SP1 message board, and I'd like to know if there's any way I could convert it to a phpBB2... I tried a convertor on this site and it didn't work. Anyone have any information on a convertor being developed, or anything of the sort I could use? Any help would be much appreciated.

Could you be more specific in telling us what exactly didn't work in the conversion? I.E. error messages, etc.

And if there is a thread for this in the convertor forum, have you posted a support request in there?

No error messages.. it would just get about halfway through the conversion and stop, and it wouldn't update any of the front information (how many threads, who last posted, etc.) and it took about half-an-hour to get through one forum full of messages. I was using the convertor "YaBB2phpBB2" and I have a CGI YaBB..

I didn't see any topics addressing this in the convertor forum, or at least, any topics that weren't at least a month old. x_X Feel free to move this topic if it's in the wrong place.

Well, you could try converting yaBB to, say, vBulletin, and then importing vBulletin into phpBB2 (or a process like that)

That could work.. but I can't afford something like vB. ..; Any suggestions of a board I could convert it to that's free?

You don´t have to actually have a board installed, do you? It´s just a package of data being converted twice.

1) There is a thread over at vBulletin that may help. It's geared to YaBB Gold -> phpbb -> vBulletin, but you should be able to use the first part.

2) I tried pulling the YaBB convertor from the download area, but there's a broken link, and when you browse the directory, there's a "heavily modified' version of 1.2.1 convertor. It has mods for cellphone and zodiac signs or something. Maybe that's part of the problem.

Is there a place to get the unadulterated YaBB->phpBB v 1.2.1? all I could find was http://www.phpbb.com/downloads.php#converters, and the link to the download http://phpbb.sourceforge.net/conver...pBB2-v1.2.1.zip was broken. I browsed the convertor directory and found only YaBB2phpBB2.zip (41K-17-Jun-2002).
