Post by Andreecko »

Thanks for helping me out in the previous thread :D , now i'm looking to add some helpful functions.
In the past (phpbb 3.0 theme) i had the following functions : "View unanswered posts", "View unread posts", "View new posts", "View active topics".

They still exist, they've just been moved under the Quick links menu in the navigation bar.

As boards moved from phpBB 3.0 and the navigation links you mention moved into the Quick links menu I did at first find my old habits lead me to question the change. But over time I've adjusted and like the cleaner and more consistent look. Personally, I just bookmark the most commonly used one, i.e. search.php?search_id=unreadposts as my entry point to boards.

The point here is that they have been moved to the "Quick menu" to make the board more mobile friendly. If you start adding all these as individual items then you will start getting complaints from users that your site is not mobile friendly.

My 2c: I use unread posts far more than anything else, so I moved that out of the "quick" links menu and put it in the top level of the navbar. Then I moved FAQ, ACP and MCP into the quick links menu. Keeps the top level tidy, and is more usable IMO.
