guest post + links

Post by AbuHossam »

Hello,
thanks for this wonderful forum.
I have some queries:
1. How to make a guest post await admin approval.
2. How can I change the look of the link?

Sorry for my language.

Do you mean so it says yoursite.com/forum/the_topic_title
?
You need to request an extension. I think there's one for 3.2.x but they often have issues and make little difference to SEO.

I would like to talk a little about the permalink and its relationship to search engine optimization..

Do you think that the current form of links is good and serves the purpose?

I found phpBB uses a different syntax for "non-default" links.. like the current one: viewtopic.php?t=2625466

The search engines are perfectly capable of understanding the link. They're more interested in the page content.

Good,
And in general, and at later times, and out of knowledge of something... How can I change the permanent link.

You would need to request an extension if you want the link to be different.

The risk with that is if the author of the extension stops supporting it, a future phpBB update could break it and then you're stuck.

and the search engines are not likely to go backward. years ago, they did not know what to do with this type of link.

they got a lot smarter over the years. the link doesn't matter so much to them any longer. it also does not really matter to users either.

most people never even read what a link is they just click on it.

Do you really mean guest (not signed up yet) or new user signed up but not posted?
