No you do not have to create a new database since you do not change host
Thank you for the quick reply.
Ok so the files inside /forum will know which database to use, right?
For example when I have a Wordpress website, which also uses a database, I know that some things inside the database have specific information about the domain so I guess for Wordpress it wouldn't be as simple as just moving files, I'm not sure...?
What would happen if I kept using the forum on the first location and at the same time on the second location? Would the database just keep updating with the information coming from 2 different locations?
I'm not doing that, of course, but I'm just curious how this would affect the database?
Also, a bit off-topic: is there a way to now automatically redirect visitors from one forum to the other?
For example, let's say I have a post with this URL forum.iamdannywyatt.com/post12345 (so the old forum)
And so when someone types that, it will take them to iamdannywyatt.com/forum/post12345 (the new forum)
I would like that to be applied to everything automatically so I don't have people visiting some posts I shared on my social media and finding an error page, you know? Is this possible? If so, how can I do this?
Thank you!
