Phpbb tehnician willing to help us with mysql ?

Post by Laurentziu »

Hello Dear Phpbbers,

I am a proud owner of phpbb community with more then 13 years being online and currently experiencing a few issues with our database: the mysql is larger then 3 gb and it's making most of the times issues on loading pages or deleting users.
I would like to ask some help from any phpbb scripter or tehnician willing to do this work for us, with or without cost, as we need the sql to be checked for health and others relevant fixed to make it work and get rid of the bugs.

Thank you :D

If you can send me a copy of the database (zipped), I'll gladly have a (free) look at it (include details about the current system it's running on - including which phpBB version: info you should really have included in your post (e.g. by using the Support Request Template Generator)

I would suspect the quality of those posts being more important than the quantity.

Your forum and database is probably OK. Don't worry about it.

My forum is 21 years old started as phpBB 1.4.something and there is no performance issues because the database size.
Sure, deleting users and shit like that takes their time, but pages load fast.

You should change your hosting plan every 3-5 years, because you get the more "power" from the server cheaper than just paying status quo.

EDIT: slow page load is always your host. Get a VPS from one one of the majors selling them. They are inexpensive and have more power than shared environment.
