Google says...nope, not user friendly

Post by BB1955 »

Well, Google says they will downgrade my search index rating unless I make the forums "mobile friendly".

I use the standard forum software and it is still not "user friendly"?

So the "button" program is screwing it up? (that is what is making the "header" go wide?

Is there a menu program that is compatable with Mobile friendly?

Darryl

PS: thank you very much.

You should have a search of the extensions and or styles forums and, if you can’t find anything, you can make an extension request.

Incidentally, the extension you’re using looks very similar to a mod that was available for a previous version of phpBB, maybe 3.0, have you got a link to it?

Button menu

Clean Name:
dmzx/buttonmenu

Description:
This extension adds a menu under the header (similar to phpbb.com menu) fully configurable via ACP.

Version:
1.0.0

Homepage:
http://www.dmzx-web.net

Release Time:
2015-08-06

Licence:
GPL-2.0

Requirements

phpBB Version:
3.1.*

PHP Version:
>=5.3.3

I guess I need to delete this but, I have many other items on the forums that have "information" that needs to have access.

That button menu extension is almost 8 years old and it doesn't look like it's ever been updated.

Let dmzx know of the problem and he will probably fix it. That menu here is pretty sweet. I can see why people want it.

Now google says the text is too small and the elements are to close together.

Now, I have no control over that do I?

Sorry for my obvious ignorance. How does Google notify you that the site is not "mobile friendly"?

phpBB (by default) is indeed mobile-friendly. If you have made modifications to the code and are having issues, please start a topic in our phpBB Custom Coding forum.
