If you enter ACP/ System tab you'll see it description of the problem.

error says: Your phpBB installation has not been correctly updated. Please read the information below in order to fix this error.

I've had same/similar problem before, i had to lose all my data sadly.

From which to which version you did the update?

Can you explain why you lost your data, what data was it you lost? Is your board heavily modified and what method did you use to update? What version were you updating from?

In answer to your question that’s up to you but, imho, it’s far better to learn to do it yourself for future reference and edification.

Can I safely not update the monthly updates? And still use extensions? I have version 3.3.10

The most recent update was released on October 22nd. The previous one prior to that was February 5th of this year. The only official updates are from the phpBB website. What kind of "updates" are you doing monthly and where are they coming from?

Boards that have been created with a 'One Click' install provided by your host differ from boards installed with the files downloaded from here, and therefore we are unable to offer support. Softaculous Support can be found HERE and Installatron Support can be found HERE

And you can turn off the auto-updating in your cPanel (this is not a phpBB issue) or whatever you use. Or, you can ask your host to turn it off.
