Creating a New Style

Post by paulie »

Hello! I'm going to be creating my own custom style that inherits from Prosilver. However, I don't want it to inherit the standard common.php file from the language/en Folder, preferring to use my own custom worded common.php file in my new style.

Is this possible please and if so how?

Thanks.

The common.php file in the language/en folder is not included in phpBB styles, this file depends on phpBB

Thanks, I think I understood that, but is there any way I can incorporate my own common.php file in my custom style instead of inheriting the default one?

You can edit the words in language/en/common.php and those new words will show in all styles.

Thanks Sniper, I do that at the moment but was just wondering if there was a simpler way than having to Edit the files/words at every update and if it was actually possible to include the common.php file in the new style I'm creating.

I'm lazy :D

Um you could create an extension and change the language strings that way
