Open posted image in same tab on click (without thumbnails feature)

Post by gvp9000 »

I have these options in "Image category settings"
Untitled 1.jpg
Without enabling thumbnails and without using lightbox extension I would like a mod in order to download a posted picture when I click on it like using thumbnails function.
I dont want to use thumbnails because this function creates 2 copies of the same image with different resolutions.
My hosting provider has an inode limitation and I don't want to double the number of pictures in my site.

I could use, right click - open in new tab but I want to avoid this .... I want this same behavior when i click to the image.

Mods are a thing of the past. A mod would require you to edit the phpBB files.
An extension is what you need (hence this Extension Request forum)

IMHO automatically downloading an image when clicking on it isn't a good idea.

If you use right click to open in a new tab, you still need to save the image.

When using right click, your mouse probably opens a menu, one of the options being save image (and with a 3 button mouse, one of the buttons could probably be configured to download the image immediately).
Spelling is freeware, which means you can use it for free.
On the other hand, it is not open source, which means you cannot change it or publish it in a modified form.

I've edited some files, so one more is not a problem.

I didn't mean to start download.
I mean to open the photo to the same browser tab so users can have the ability to zoom in or out clicking at the image.

user = test1
pass = 123456
link = https://gvp9000.serv00.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=27

I want the second image to behave like the first one on click in order to clearly see the "Read this" text written with a very small font.

In other words I want every posted image to be with it's link on it e.g https://gvp9000.serv00.net/phpBB3/downl ... .php?id=41 for the second picture.
Is it possible ?

Another example ... this image
Untitled 1.jpg
has a link = "download/file.php?id=277669"

I want to apply this link to the picture and when I click on it to open in the same tab ... like if I use the method of right click - open in new tab.
Which html file i must edit ?

Ow ... that's not what you requested in your topic title. (attached image vs image posted using [img])

If all you want is clicking on an attached image to open in the same window, then I think there's an extension that has that option Prime Links .

Sorry I changed the title.
English is not my first language.

I couldn't do it with prime links.

And yes, this is what I want.
To click on the previous image and get this
Untitled 1.jpg

Problem solved at least for very large pictures with "ReIMG Image Resizer"
