We had a few changes on the site a few days ago causing some issues, including this. This has been fixed and all should be fine again.

Hello,

When editing messages and after sending, you first get "undefined" in the text area.
When you refresh the page, your message has ultimately been edited and posted

Have you tried to do a test with the prosilver style?

Hello,

When editing a post in the titania support section, after clicking on "Full Editor & Preview", the page displays a json file (quick_edit.json) instead of the editor page.

Thanks for discovering that cabot, it's probably related to the recent server changes but I'm having a look to see if there's anything in the customisation-db code which could fix this json from coming up.

Yes, that's what I was talking about.
It's not a json file but the AJAX response in json format.

For me, the biggest issue with this forum, and all the other available styles, and virtually every installation of this software, is useability issues.

You have an icon for "there are unread posts" and another icon for "there are no unread posts" and I'm thinking, one icon for where there are new posts; no icon is necessary if there aren't any. Instead, the icons are the same, with just a slight distinction in color. This could be so much easier for users.

Unread posts?

No unread posts?

Someone pointed out years ago that this doesn't work if your forum isn't in English, but the fix is to remake the icon in whatever language the board uses.

It doesn't appear that anyone has actually bothered to do any useability testing at all on the software. It doesn't have to be difficult or expensive. Just have the home page on a computer and invite some people to use the site who aren't familiar with it. Ask them to do things (like register an account; navigate to a specific forum section; make a post; send a PM; upload an image; and so forth). Then watch what they do. Don't tell them, have them try to figure out how the site works. You can tell a lot by seeing where they get confused and then use that information to make it work better.

I've been running forums since 1997 and just recently upgraded my forum from version 3.1 to version 3.3.11. I hired an experienced phpBB person to change and even knowing how things are supposed to work, keep finding myself befuddled by the non-intuitive garbage everywhere. It's an arduous task to edit the code to make it easier for users, but it's well worth the effort. It would be nice if it were done on the phpBB side first.

If you’re talking in general we have an ideas forum where you can suggest things you’d like changed in the core. If you do decide to use the ideas forum I suggest you keep each suggestion separate in individual topics.

The Ideas Bot should have a rank title and image.

All the other bots have a rank title & image so for consistency, one should be added. The Ideas Bot is actually one of four bots that have actually posted anything but the only bot without any rank. It's also not assigned to a group so it has no username colour.

The only other bot that doesn't have a username colour is the Extensions Dev Robot which does have a rank title & image but has 0 posts. So, what should be done to address this discrepancy?

The Ideas Bot should have a rank title & image so it matches all other phpBB bots. I believe that the username colour and rank image should be the teal-ish colour used for the development team due to the fact that phpBB ideas are centred around feature requests for the phpBB software which is inherently a development team centred topic.

Why do I care about this? Well, if you don't care about anything then what's the point?

Please, add a rank to Ideas. He (OR SHE) feels left out.

We no longer use that user to post anything, so i dont see any need to add a rank for it.

IMHO, I think this site should consider having a spoiler tag bbcode added. It would allow for better organization of forum sigs and even some posts.
