Connecting linguise to PHPBB3

Post by RomaamoR »

Hi all.
There is a resource www.linguise.com that translates websites into various languages. PHPBB3 is also supported.
I decided to try connecting and see what it is.
Connection instructions here - https://www.linguise.com/integrations/a ... for-phpbb/

With the help of their technical support, we managed to somehow get this going. But there is a problem.
Pages of this type -
https://pikniktv.com/es/iptv-2023-f328/iptv-t6737-s6340.html are translated.
But these ones - https://pikniktv.com/es/viewtopic.php?t=6737&start=6350 are no longer there.
He also doesn’t want to work on the main page. That is, everything in the header is processed normally, but everything else - The requested page cannot be found.
I'm asking you because... linguise support responds daily, at night, and apparently is not very versed in PHPBB3.
You can see how it all looks here - pikniktv.com (language switching button in the upper right corner)

The question is, why does it give an error if viewtopic.php is present in the address?
The problem is in the nginx settings, the redirect works for .html, but not for .php?

The issue is likely related to the SEO extension/modification and you need to seek support from the extension author.

I'll explain it differently. If all extensions are disabled, translation does not work. When you enable the extension SEO, works but not on all pages. The translator does not understand viewtopic.php.

It's not a matter of whose extension it is. The question is how to change the structure of the links themselves on the forum so that they are in .html format.

I see linguise mentions “phpBB CMS” but phpBB is bulletin board software not a CMS (whatever that really is) Obviously they’ve not done their homework.

The instructions clearly indicate phpBB3. Look again.
https://www.linguise.com/documentation/ ... -on-phpbb/

This means that theoretically and practically everything should work. After all, they checked it.

You’ll have to ask them especially as they checked it as we don’t know how their software works

They are very slow in responding. And I'm sure that they are not familiar with all the intricacies of this CMS.

But we have no idea about how their software works, or how it intergrates or anything. Nor has phpBB URLs like https://pikniktv.com/es/iptv-2023-f328/ ... s6340.html.

For those .html links to work you need server side rewrites so disabling the extension is not necessarily disabling it entirely. Just taking a wild guess but there is likely an issue with the rewrite/redirect. Taking guesses is not going to solve your problem and that is what everyone would be doing here.

As already noted seek support from where you downloaded the extension/modification because they may be familiar with what the potential issue is.
