Set Newly Registered Users Must Use Anti Spam For First 5 Posts

Hi,

Its been a long time since i used phpbb. In phpbb 3.3.11 how do i set newly registered users must use anti spam for first 5 approved posts.

I am using question and recaptcha for anti spam

Update: So i did set these to :

New member post limit: 5

Set Newly Registered Users group to default: Yes

So that takes care of the 5 posts required, now i just need to set it so that those 5 posts are using recaptcha every time.

You would need an extension for captcha as well.
Seems pointless though because you'll see if they're a spammer after the first 1-2 posts and deal with the account anyway.

True most likely, if the numbers are low its easy, if there are many its a PITA lol So just something alittle extra to assist is all.

I detest spammers and want to stop them in their tracks.

That said, personally if I joined a board that required my first 5 posts to be approved that would be a major irritant and red-flag about the site and why I would want to join. If on top of that I had to deal with a CAPTCHA for each of those posts requiring approval that would take an irritant to just plain annoying and frustrating. Why would any real member put themselves through this?

It's far easier to stop those accounts registering to begin with and then catch the rest with moderation/approval on the first 1 or 2 posts.

I would totally agree if it was all posts. It is only the first 5 posts which is no hassle IMO. Plus this is a very niche board which purpose is only to offer support for very specific software. Bascially if the owner of the software needs help they will join the board as its the only free support option for the software. So i think 5 posts is not much to ask. I might knock it down to 3 just to be flexible.

True, i play around with it and see how it goes. I dont expect a ton of registrations but we will see.

Anyway, there’s no native way to do that. If you still want to do it you’ll need to make an extension request.
