A forum dedicated to techwear clothing?

Post by Duhkha_ »

Hello everyone,

A few days ago, I was looking for some techwear to buy, to complete my wardrobe for this winter. Long story short for the uninitiated, techwear is futuristic style clothing, usually all black, very functional. So I was doing some research, and wanted information on specific brands, as there's a lot to choose from....

What a disappointment when I realized that, apart from a subreddit where you can find little information and lots of photos of outfits, usually without the garment references, well, there isn't a mass of information on the internet. I know that this style of clothing (along with gorpcore, warcore, cyberpunk and other derivatives of techwear) generates a lot of commitment and fascinates tens of thousands of people worldwide.

So my first question is: do you think a forum based on this niche is a good idea? I've already given some thought to the structure and content that could be included: an outfits section where members could post photos of their best techwear outfits of the moment, a recommendations section where members could post their favorites of the moment, and so on.

My second question is: how do I know if this forum idea has potential? I think so, but as I haven't found any forum dedicated to this style of clothing, I'm thinking there might be a reason... but what is it?

Thanks for your opinions/suggestions! if you know of any cool themes in a futuristic/cyberpunk style, I'll take them too.

Looking forward to reading you! ;)

There are forums on anything and everything. Give it a go and see what happens.

Creating a forum dedicated to techwear clothing is an excellent idea. Given the need for comprehensive resources online, such a platform could fill a crucial void in the techwear community. Providing outfit sharing and recommendations sections, your forum could become a hub for enthusiasts to exchange ideas and discover new brands. I suggest you also include in your forum discussions about techwear replicas. Since this type of clothing is expensive and few people can afford it, good-quality replicas are handy. I know this from my personal experience. If you need help with information about replicas, I can help you with that. Also, you can [removed] about techwear replicas.

I’m going to go against the grain here and say don’t do it. If you can’t find anything on this subject then that usually means no one is interested. Besides, if a subreddit of all places exists but isn’t used then it means there’s not an active community out there for it.

By all means start a forum today but in 6 months time it probably won’t be very popular and bringing in any money or value based discussion. Perhaps start with a blog / website to get content created first then if you get an audience… start a forum.

As the OP hasn't visited for 4 months I would think they decided not to.
