Tag Parrot - google indexing?

Post by CPTOM »

Anyone here tried Tag Parrot on a PHPBB forum? Google does a spotty job indexing my site, so I routinely use the Gooogle Search Console to request indexing to our best topics. I have not been able to figure out why most, but not all, topics get indexed, but when I submit a topic (page 1 of a topic) for indexing, it always seems to work. Tag Parrot seems intriguing insofar as it's supposed to automate the process of 1) checking to see if pages are indexed, and 2) requesting indexing if they are not. Anyone here try it? Not really sure how/if it would work when a dynamic site like a forum?

Well to answer my own question, Tag Parrot works great. Just make sure you have a sitemap (there's an extension to do that). In the last month, my board now has 5 times as many indexed pages compared to a month ago, thanks to Tag Parrot. Virtually all of the pages now indexed have been up for months or years, just not indexed for whatever reason. They are all getting indexed now, 200 a day at the entry level subscription. :D

Interesting - my forum gets indexed just fine, and fast too just with Search Console.

I am using the sitemap extension you mention, and have also submitted the resulting sitemap url to GSC, which is important.

Good to know of this alternative though in case I ever run into issues - hadn't heard of Tag Parrot - thanks!
