is there a way to automatically remove inactive moderators?

Good morning, on our forum we currently have about ten moderators, who were also very active at first but then I see that over the months some of them tend to log on very little and thus moderate almost nothing.
So I was wondering if there was a way to put some automatic rules in place, so that a moderator who is not very active goes back to being a simple registered user

Have a look at Auto Groups I believe it can remove users from groups (moderators in your case) as well as add them.

Hi everyone, in your opinion when should a moderator be downgraded to a normal user? Do you have any advice? I have made several in the past but some are currently inactive and I am undecided on what to do, whether to leave them like this for an indefinite time or whether to adopt rules to downgrade them, both manually and automatically.
How do you do it? Do you have any advice?

I’m not 100% but I think here we request support members visit at least five hours a week. It’s not hard and fast though until there’s a backlog of stuff needs attending to. Personally, if you’ve got moderators that can’t be bothered turning up I’d demote them, it’s easy enough to add or remove them.

I’m not sure but if they’ve not logged in for, say, a month (or whatever you decide) they’ve clearly not done their quota. You could always set a rule whereby if a moderator is going away on holiday they tell you first or have a hidden forum for moderators to announce they won’t be available for x days etc. Ten moderators seems an awful lot unless your board is inundated with fresh content every day. You could probably trim that down to two or three straight away without any of the above being necessary.

Why not just set yourself a reminder to check every 2 months? Or designate a trusted mod to do the checking?
