Thank you very much for this update. :D

Wouldn't it be better to remove the media query and also make the icon a bit larger in the browser?

I made an adjustment for prosilver_fr

Code: Select all

.wpn-notification-dropdown-footer button > .icon {
	    color: var(--color01);
	    padding: 4px;
	    font-size: 24px;
}

There's only 3 conditions under which the button would wouldn't work:

1. You're browser has already blocked/denied the site from allowing any notifications (you'll get an alert for this)
2. You're device/browser does not support push notifications (subscribe buttons would be totally disabled)
3. The site is not HTTPS or a localhost (you won't be able to set up push notifications from the ACP)

Based on your photo, the button is not disabled (it'd be more grayed out) which means either your site is denied already, or uyou have some other javascript problems so you should look at your browser's dev tools console if possible.

As with other extensions, my guess is "When it's been validated".
Spelling is freeware, which means you can use it for free.
On the other hand, it is not open source, which means you cannot change it or publish it in a modified form.

I've seen this answer so many times that it doesn't seem funny anymore. So what needs to be understood is this: It could be published this year, or next year, or maybe three years later.

That is the only available answer really :).
It all depends on a lot of things. If a extension author never submits his extension, it will be never approved. If a extension author keeps submitting extensions that don't meet the requirements, it can be 3 years. If a extension don't resubmit it after a denial it can take up until next year. Or if everything is directly without issues it can be within a few months.
We try to validate extensions within a month after submissions, however in some cases that might take a bit longer. The current validation statistics can be found at https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/queu ... /extension

I see. :) Maybe after trying it on a test board... Hey, has anyone installed this extension on an active board?

I've been running this extension on a live board since RC7 without any problem.

If you seen the answer so many times before, then you've also seen the question and Paul's answer (a similar answer has also been given in the past) so there's no need to repeat the question. Strangely enough you don't find the answer funny anymore, why not the same feeling about the question ?

To be validated the extensions author has to be happy with the code before he submits it.

It is then at the bottom of a queue which might contain one other extension, or ten, or twenty, or more. Those need to be thoroughly checked and tested and checked again before they are either validated or denied before THIS extension is even looked at, which then goes through the same process.

If this extension is denied, then the author has to correct any mistakes, continue testing until he is happy, and re submit it whereupon its at the bottom of the queue again and has to go through the same process all over again.

Of course the author might find (or be aware of) a bug in the extension which would lead him to withdraw the submission until he has corrected it, the resubmit as above.

So let me ask you, how long does it take to validate an extension?

An informed guess would be: As long as it takes ;) (but I'm not excluding the possibility that it could take longer 8-) )

At least it is good to know that with phpBB 4.0 the data in the extension will not be deleted. I saw it in the license files when I was trying to translate Turkish.
