I just wanted to know if it worked to help rule out browser or extension related issues.

You're trying to get an attachment to animate? If so that's a whole different thing I suspect. Or can they not just embed from your own link?

Very well from my exploration now i came to conclusion that

phpbb will play/animate gifs that are smaller resolution

phpbb will not play/animate gifs that are bigger resolution

here im talking about gifs that are directly uploaded to board NOT EMBEDED!!!!

I dont want users to embed third party links of gifs

so now i wonder where could i edit code thats responsible for gifs and their size limit.
or best if i could make it to show gifs in true size and set some maximum resolution maybe 2k

can anyone point me please

If a thumb is created it won't be animated, the full size image should still be animated. Click the thumbnail.
