I’ve resubmitted an extension probably two months ago and a relatively smaller one about two weeks ago yet no feedback or anything about them.
I totally agree with youAnișor wrote: Fri Oct 25, 2024 6:24 pm It sux because in case it’s denied and it takes seconds to fix, you have to wait again a month (or more) to probably get it rejected again. If I remember correctly some extensions are approved with the same mistakes I’ve made but whatever.
About the PM, I don’t like to bother people in private much. And I know it takes time and it’s a volunteer job but still … sometimes it gets frustrating.
You're going to have to elaborate. The validation team does the same validation on every extension submitted, so I fail to see what you're getting at here.Galandas wrote: Fri Nov 01, 2024 5:32 pm There are too many factors at play to expect completely objective and uninfluenced evaluations.
"I never said that I didn't like private email; I simply replied to a colleague of yours who asked me not to send him private emails, after he himself had sent me one. So you do what I say but not what I do? He gave me the same impression that he didn't like private emails, but only liked to send them on his own initiative, think about it, this seems like a huge contradiction to me. If you send me a private email with the kind intention of making it easier for me and helping me to approve an extension, and then you tell me that I can't send you emails either to answer you or to ask you for clarifications on any needs, or to ask if it's time to approve an extension, then there is a fundamental communication problem. I can understand our human flaws and our limits, it's normal that there may be small imperfections in the way we operate, but I think it's better to avoid certain misunderstandings and discussions. If everything is interpreted and understood only on the basis of one's own point of view, we would end up talking ad infinitum without solving anything." Edit: Come to think of it, in a way it's my fault, maybe I just assumed I was communicating expecting common sense and reasonableness in return.DavidIQ wrote: Wed Nov 13, 2024 12:30 pm If someone on the team sent you a PM for a certain issue in your extension that may or may not be a reason to deny your extension then that was just a nice thing they were doing to ensure your extension's success. However since that is not to your liking I'll make sure those involved in testing and validation refrain from sending messages outside of the normal process from now on. You will receive feedback when your extension is approved or denied be it a small thing or a big thing.
The extension queue will be cleared in the next few days. Thanks.
Be aware that moving forward, starting in the next major phpBB version, the "Extension catalog" in the ACP would NOT show your extension in search results if you're hosting it elsewhere making it even less visible.Anișor wrote: Fri Oct 25, 2024 9:53 am I’m thinking to do what everyone else does and move them on my own website instead.

I don't think that means what you think it means. As I said going forward we, as in the Extensions Team, will stick to using the discussion queue for communicating issues with extensions. Your replies to those PMs were less than amicable so it's obvious that you're not on board with that form of communication, which is fine. We will stick to what we had been doing prior, at least when it comes to your extensions.Galandas wrote: Wed Nov 13, 2024 6:12 pm I simply replied to a colleague of yours who asked me not to send him private emails, after he himself had sent me one. I think you can expect as much reasonableness as you've been expressing at this point given your replies so far both here and in private.Galandas wrote: Wed Nov 13, 2024 6:12 pm Edit: Come to think of it, in a way it's my fault, maybe I just assumed I was communicating expecting common sense and reasonableness in return.
