There is no need to use bootstrap if new style will be created without any framework. In other words.. Neptune style can be used to redesign ACP.

Also - light/dark modes by default please and thank you! And if you need to choose, please dark over light.
Yeah, if you have any links or images of designs you like then feel free to include them in this topic. I'm not saying that we will rip various bits from different existing styles / websites but anything that can be used as inspiration or considered from a UX perspective is always helpful.

Neptune will be a light style by default.
Meis2M wrote: Wed Dec 04, 2024 8:23 pm it is my suggestion
if possible pls use bootstrap in new style, and in next step we can use it for new ACP style too.
No, we're not using Bootstrap. We don't need to as a forum layout is fairly simple as it is.
Meis2M wrote: Thu Dec 05, 2024 6:51 am there is an old topic here:

Marc worked on acp new style using bootstrap. it is my opinion using this framework in both. Neptune and acp, but you make final decision about that.

thank you
There is currently no plans to redesign the ACP. All my work right now is focused on the front-end style.

In theory, yes. I'm working solely on the front-end though so I won't be taking any considerations for the ACP as that's a whole separate project in and of itself.

I hope you also include a responsive logo that accommodates all sizes and that can also be centered.

I also hope that you get away from this Prosilver blue.

Everything is on GitHub so there's not really anything to leak 😏

The entire style will be completely responsive and whilst the new colour palette will be blue, it won't use the existing colours from prosilver.

a darker blue, for example #04376a would be okay, just not this light blue. :)

The icons from Area51 fit this quite well

The icons will take a lot of work generally speaking so there will be lots of revisions I'm sure.

The problem with the icons is that there's so much info used there so getting them right is a very tricky thing. You've got the post status (open or locked), then the popularity (normal or hot), then you have to think about whether it's something you posted to (mine or not). Probably one of the most complicated UIs on a phpBB forum.

Well, the discussion is slow here.
A fully responsive logo that can be centered without having to use an additional extension.
Maybe also separate the header completely from the navbar and the wrap. I think that we then have a few other options for displaying logos better. Whether the idea is good... I have no idea.
The design should be modern. If it has to be blue, then it should be dark blue.

Maybe offer a dark and light style.

It would be good to see sample colours of Neptune and layouts for the community to vote for. :D

As the style is currently in the gathering ideas phase, we have nothing to show at this point. Color choices will be a discussion in the future. ;)

We are only offering light, which was conveyed by Daniel earlier...

Everything discussed here can be done with the current phpBB version. It just needs to make or custemed a special style. How will this be different in phpBB 4?

I wouldn't say discussion is slow as such. The project only started properly about a week ago or so and as Kailey has said, we're currently internally discussing things that will be published when we feel it's ready. After the Chameleon project hit road blocks it shouldn't come as a surprise that we're trying to manage this carefully to set expectations accordingly.

HTML5 will be used throughout.
halil16 wrote: Tue Dec 10, 2024 8:12 pm Everything discussed here can be done with the current phpBB version. It just needs to make or custemed a special style. How will this be different in phpBB 4?
The style will be made using phpBB 4.0 master branch, not the phpBB 3.3.x branch. It will be a brand new style created from the ground up and cater to the new features that exist in v4. If you're not excited about it then that's fine... but I am.

Work might seem slow right now and that's to be expected but in the coming weeks and months more and more information will be released and gradually we'll start to see visuals of the style appear.

I didn't say it to be derogatory, don't get me wrong. I was just asking to understand what would be different. I'm not in such great anticipation as I used to be. So it's okay for me to wait. In fact, I would like to support the style. However, almost everything mentioned here can also be done with the current version. But of course a stronger default style would be good for everyone.

It feels like this topic needs some substance. "There is no point of having a hot dog with out a hot bun with a bit of mustard and Tommy sauce chucked on top."

Has the html and css been stripped to bare bones?
